Lavinia is well known for her work as a unique vocalist and arranger in Trembling Bells, who released seven albums, all met with critical acclaim. She has performed and toured extensively through Europe. Support from Laura J Martin who has so far released three critically acclaimed albums!
Lavinia trained as a singer at R.S.A.M.D Glasgow before going on to complete her Masters in Early Music with distinction at The Guildhall, London.
Her debut album ‘Muggington Lane End’ was universally well received, earning excellent reviews from publications as diverse as Rolling Stone France, Shindig!, RnR, The Financial Times, Uncut, Moof Mag, The Scotsman, and online editions, Backseat Mafia, Spectrum Culture, and Line Of Best Fit.
Lavinia is a member of Wyndow who released their successful debut album to rave reviews in 2020.
Lavinia continues to work on her second solo album, a rich tapestry of lyrical melodies and beautifully arranged song smithery ably accompanied by ‘Stilton’ the talents of Marco Rea ( The Wellgreen, Euros Childs) Jim McGoldrick (The Wellgreen) and Seb Jonsen (Helicon and The Tomorrow Syndicate).
Support from the increidble Laura J Martin a mercurial and bewitching live performer who interweaves layers of vocals, flute, mandolin and electronics; Laura and her band have toured regularly across the UK and Europe and supported acts such as PJ Harvey, Teenage Fanclub, Cate Le Bon and performed and collaborated extensively with Euros Childs. Consistently played and supported by BBC6 Music DJs such as Marc Riley, Cerys Matthews, Lauren Laverne, Gideon Coe and Stuart Maconie; Laura's most recent release was a collaborative project 'Wyndow' written with Lavinia Blackwall of Trembling Bells. Currently finalising her next solo album, Laura will be playing new material and songs from her wide catalogue.
