Why? - The Vault Arts Centre

The success of the annual Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music & Dance Festival confirmed that it was an event that, with the right support, had the potential to eventually sustain itself. It was also having a very important positive impact on the local economy, as well as providing significant cultural and social benefits.

However, in order to become self-sustaining the festival would need to continue to develop and grow; expanding its programme and finding ways to generate new, additional, income to support that development.

With grant funding becoming increasingly competitive, and the local authority slowly withdrawing funding for arts, culture and heritage projects, it was clear that a solution would need to be found.

Established as a social enterprise project to support the charity's projects and ongoing runnings costs, The Vault Arts Centre generates income through:

  • Live Event Ticket Sales
  • Music Shop Retail Sales
  • Tuition Fees
  • Local Arts & Crafts Retail Sales
  • Venue Hire
  • Marquee Hire
  • PA, Lighting & Stage Hire
  • Commercial Sponsorship
  • Bar Retail Sales
