GallowGrass + Stacey Joy

Part of the 5th annual SpringGrass Bluegrass Festival, popular local band GallowGrass perform a mix of Americana/bluegrass/folk influenced tunes and songs, along with their own arrangements of tunes and songs from the bluegrass/folk traditions. Support from the incredible Stacey Joy.

Led by dobro, banjo and guitar player, and vocalist, Nathon Jones, GallowGrass also features Rhona Jones (vocals), Roger Whitham (upright bass & vocals), Graham Rodger (guitar & vocals), Billy Jones (mandola & vocals) and Jack Trainer (bodhran).

Stacey Joy is an award-winning independent songwriter and performer from the foothills of Northern California. Described by NPR as “a much-needed breath of fresh air”, her musical style – a sultry mix of blues, jazz, country, folk and Americana – has inspired comparisons to Norah Jones, Nina Simone, Carla Bruni, Natalia Lafourcade and Damien Rice.

A multi-instrumentalist and multilinguist, she has toured extensively throughout North, Central and South America, sharing the stage with artists as diverse as Rising Appalachia, Mary Youngblood and Buena Vista Social Club.

Her debut album ‘The Journey Unfolds’ won the award for Best Americana at the New Mexico Music Awards in 2017. It was also nominated for Best of the Year and Best Singer/Songwriter. The follow-up ‘There’s Magic Here’ was a finalist for Best Adult Contemporary at the 2019 NMMA.  In 2020 she was a winner of the John Lennon “Stuck at Home” songwriting contest, and in 2021 she was recognised as a Rising Star by Nashville Hit Songwriters at the prestigious Red Lodge Songwriters Festival.

She is currently working on her third studio album and various songwriting commissions, and has European and North American tours planned for 2026.
