Newton Stewart and Minnigaff Traditional Music and Dance Festival brings absolutely top class musicianship to the area. This year’s festival featured Ron Block - a 14 time Grammy winner, and you don’t get too many of them visiting Dumfries and Galloway!
Plans are already well developed for next year’s festival which will take place from 7th-9th July 2023 with the Ciaràn Ryan Band, HEISK and Flook already lined up to perform.
Centred around the excellent Vault Arts Centre in Newton Stewart, Newton Stewart & Minnigaff Traditional Music and Dance Festival sees some of its top musicians offer tuition to local people and festival goers while the Highland Dancing competition in Minnigaff attracts dancers of all abilities and ages for another of the festival’s highlights.
Bringing the Event of the Year award to Dumfries and Galloway on national TV would be a fabulous boost for the region so please get voting now!
Following a cancellation this weekend, we've brought forward the Bluegrass Night, originally scheduled for Friday 2nd January, to this coming Friday 19th December 2025 from 7pm. Join local and visiting musicians for an evening of bluegrass/Americana/old-time music. Free entry!
