The Vault Arts Centre has always strived to put young people at the heart of what it does, and so we're delighted to be working on a creative project with HND Visual Communication students at Dumfries & Galloway College to design new branding for September's Blues Weekender festival.
Dumfries & Galloway College Campus in Dumfries
Last year the charity introduced two new annual festivals to its programme of events at The Vault Arts Centre; SpringGrass Bluegrass Festival in May and the Blues Weekender festival in September.
With a logo and branding already designed for the SpringGrass Bluegrass Festival, with support from designer Neil Paterson, the charity was still on the lookout for just the right design and feel for the September weekend.
The charity was approached by Third Sector Dumfries & Galloway who had, themselves, been approached by Dumfries & Galloway College who were looking for projects/events/organisations/businesses in the region that needed support with graphic design.
After speaking with Visual Communications Lecturer Penny Humphreys, a student was identified to take the project forward and we very much look forward to supporting their learning and to see what they will produce for the Blues Weekender festival.
Following a cancellation this weekend, we've brought forward the Bluegrass Night, originally scheduled for Friday 2nd January, to this coming Friday 19th December 2025 from 7pm. Join local and visiting musicians for an evening of bluegrass/Americana/old-time music. Free entry!
